I was in Wimbledon yesterday to preview the Midland Continental Depot Museum Featuring Peggy Lee for the first time in many months and I was totally impressed by the entire project. The Peggy Lee Room in the living room of the upstairs apartment is full of great information about Norma Egstrom's youth and her start in music and theater and about Peggy Lee's career. The displays are top notch and the building itself is a gem.
The information about the Midland Continental Railroad is also a fascinating story in itself. Some of the most touching parts of the display are quotes from Peggy Lee herself about her memories of that time, which are put into context in this unique and authentic setting.
It truly is worth a visit!
